Under their Shaping Excellence brand, Birketts have been approved as a national training provider for the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB), appointed to deliver its Introduction to Diversity and Inclusion training to members employed in the engineering and construction sector. The course covers diversity, inclusion and unconscious bias, enabling candidates to make a positive impact in the workplace and includes discussions, practical exercises and reflection along with consolidation of the learning.
The ECITB is the skills, standards and qualifications body for the development of the engineering construction workforce – the sector responsible for designing, installing, repairing and decommissioning process plant infrastructure in Great Britain. An arms-length body of the UK Government, the ECITB is funded by a levy collected from the industry, the proceeds of which are used to support employers train and upskill their workforce to industry standards. Few of the equality, diversity and inclusion training solutions available currently meet the rigorous legal standards provided by Birketts’ and the team’s appointment is a further endorsement of the quality training offering they provide to employers.
The Shaping Excellence Team will continue to deliver their trademark high quality e-learning packages remotely in tandem with the reintroduction of face-to-face sessions. The team’s sophisticated blend of interactive break-out tasks, lively quizzes and comprehensive coursework has won them a dedicated client base with the highly successful Equality, Diversity and Inclusion course acquiring a host of positive feedback.
Catherine Lambert, Management and Professional Manager at ECITB commented: “We are delighted to appoint Birketts’ as an approved training provider. We are confident that the team’s equality, diversity and inclusion e-learning package is both contemporary in outlook and legally robust. Comprehensive coverage of these sensitive topics in a rapidly changing work climate is vital and we have been very impressed by the team’s attention to detail in this regard.”
Sam Greenhalgh (pictured), Legal Director and Head of Shaping Excellence concluded: “We are delighted to be appointed by the ECITB as an approved training provider. Training on Diversity and Inclusion is at the forefront of every employer’s agenda as it is recognised as being the foundation of building an inclusive and positive culture where everyone thrives. It is great that the engineering and construction industry are drawing attention to the importance of training in this area.”
